Merry Christmas!

It's been a while since I've written anything for my blog but I couldn't let this awesome event go by without sharing my thoughts on it.  If you didn't know, the Star of Bethlehem (aka Saturn & Jupiter close in the night sky) made an appearance for the first time in 800 years!  Here is a picture I took. Not as impressive as other's I've seen, but at least I can say I saw it!  I think you'll be able to see it for a few more nights this week.   Last week I was reading the account of the Wise Men in Matthew 2 and thought of it in terms of this "star" coming again this year.  December 25th is NOT Jesus' actual birthday, it's a made up day we've chosen to celebrate His birth.  And, contrary to many a nativity scene, the wise men were not at Jesus' birth, but came later - as much as 2 years later!
